Privacy policy

Last updated 18 August 2026. This page describes what CUT IT does with your images and your visit, including the parts we do not control.

Your images

Images you open in the tool are not uploaded. The background-removal model is downloaded to your browser and runs on your own device, so your image data is never sent to us. We have no copy of it, no queue it passes through and no storage to delete it from.

The one network request connected to the tool is the model download itself, fetched from staticimgly.com, the asset host of the open-source library we use. That request contains no image data, but — like any request your browser makes — the host receives your IP address and can log it under its own policies.

What we measure

We record aggregate usage counters so we can tell which pages help and where the tool fails. Every event is a counter, not a record about a person. Specifically we count:

  • page views per page path
  • tool milestones: an image being selected, a focus area being drawn, a run starting, succeeding, failing or returning nothing, and a download
  • coarse buckets attached to those events — file size ranges, dimension ranges, duration ranges, export format, and whether the device is phone-sized
  • Core Web Vitals ratings, to catch performance regressions

We do not set analytics cookies, do not fingerprint your browser, do not store your IP address and do not record filenames or any image content. The only thing written to your browser's local storage is your light/dark theme choice, which stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. A random session identifier is generated in memory for the life of the tab and is written only into a probabilistic counter used to approximate how many sessions occurred; it cannot be read back and disappears when you close the tab.

Advertising

The site is funded by ads served by Google AdSense. This is the part that is not local: when ad slots are active, Google loads its own script, may set cookies, and may use your visit for ad measurement and personalisation according to its policies, not ours. If you would rather not have that, an ad or content blocker prevents the script from loading and the tool keeps working normally.

You can review and change Google's ad personalisation settings at My Ad Center.

Hosting

The site is served by Vercel. Like any web host, its infrastructure processes the requests needed to deliver pages, which technically includes IP addresses, and it keeps operational logs under its own terms. We do not add our own request logging on top of that, and the analytics described above never receive your IP address.

Children

The site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect personal information at all.

Your rights

Data-protection rights such as access, correction and erasure apply to personal data held about you. We hold none: there is no account, no profile and no identifier that could be linked back to you. If you believe otherwise, or you want to ask about anything on this page, write to hello@cut-it.online.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top will change with it. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly edited in.
